Avishka Fernando (අවිශ්ක ප්‍රනාන්දු); is a right-hand opening batsman with right-arm medium-fast bowling. He is commonly known as Ava for his nickname. Avishka has represented his national side Sri Lanka Cricket Team in ODI and T20I. Avishka Fernando became part of Sri Lanka Team Squad for 2017 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, in Sri Lanka became champions against runner up Pakistan, tournament hosted by Bangladesh.

Fernando played U-19 ICC Cricket World Cup 2016 for his national side and scored two consecutive centuries against the same opposition England. He made his debut against Australia and dismissed for a duck after facing just deliveries on August 31, 2016, at Dambulla Cricket Stadium.

Fernando made him the leading runs scorer for Sri Lanka with 1379 runs and most number of centuries in Youth ODI history. He made his debut in the domestic T20 Cup 2017–18 SLC Twenty20 Tournament for Colts Cricket Club on February 24, 2018. Fernando became part of Colombo squad in the Sri Lankan Premier League T20 tournament in August 2018.

Avishka have decent records in T20 cricket format and hoping to make his debut in top 5 cricket leagues in the world. Pakistan Super League, Big Bash League, Caribbean Premier League and so on. In April 2019, he was named in Sri Lanka’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
