BBL 2020 Fixture and Teams Schedule

Big Bash League is all set to start for its 9th season from December 17, 2019, and BBL 2020 Fixture has been released, with the inaugural match between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunders. CA has released the official schedule of 2019-20 games in Australia. Thirteen venues have been selected for this season which will host the entire BBL 09 season.

BBL 2020 Fixture

With the release of Big Bash fixtures, the organising body has announced the official broadcasters of the tournament. Fox Cricket and Seven Cricket will broadcast all matches of BBL 9 however Seven Cricket has limited options. Fox Cricket will broadcast the entire tournament with exclusive coverage on Saturdays which Seven Cricket won’t have. 

Big Bash 2019 20 is all set to contested between eight teams of the tournament who will be head to head with each other at the group stage. Each team will play once against every team in this tournament. Perth Scorchers have been very successful than any other franchise of the competition. 

Tournament Format

Big Bash 9 revamped with five matches knock out stages and final format. This summer winner of the BBL 8 Sydney Thunder will take on Brisbane Heat on December 17th. BBL 2020 Fixture list: Full schedule for BBL 09 has announced with scheduled venues, time & date, and broadcasters. 

The whole tournament will wrap up in just 42 days with a total of 61 matches scheduled, 56 games at the group stage and five finals. This BBL season has two more events than the previous season BBL 8. 

This 9th edition of BBL will see the top five teams in the BBL ladder will play the knockout stage with the 4th to 5th team. The units on ladder position 4th and 5th are required to win four consecutive matches to lift the trophy. The teams on the 1st and 2nd position will have a second chance to play against the teams in the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions.

BBL 09 Final

The management and organizers of the tournament have recently changed the format of the Big Bash tournament. According to the reports as per BBL 2020 Fixture, tournament will be the first time played on the exact format of the Pakistan Super League.

Top 5 teams at ladder will have a chance to fight for the title and of which, five matches will be played between the top 5 sides of the ladder. The team at number 4th position on the ladder will contest the team on the 5th position of the ladder as first Elimination final on Wednesday, Jan 30, 2019.

Teams at 1st and second positions of the ladder or points table will play the first qualifying final and winner will straightaway qualify for the final of the BBL 9. While the looser from this first qualifying final will have second chance play semi-final against a team ranked at number 3rd position of the ladder.

Winner of the semi-final and loser of the qualifying final will play the preliminary final on February 6, 2020, while Big Bash final will be played amongst Winner qualifying final vs Winner preliminary final on February 8, 2020.

Sydney Thunder Fixture 

BBL 2020 fixtures have been released with the details of venues and time table. Sydney Thunder fixture for BBL 2019 20 has been released and according to this team will play its first match against Adelaide Strikers. The team is known as the red hot favourite team as a contestant to lift the trophy.

A total of 61 matches will be played during the whole tournament including 56 group stage and five games at the elimination stage. This is the 9th season of Big Bash and commonly known as BBL 09. This is the professional T20 tournament in Australia with the most top rated TRP event in Australia.
