Shakib Al Hasan

Shakib Al Hasan (সাকিব আল হাসান); is a top-order batting all-rounder and handy spin bowler with his slow left-arm orthodox bowling action. He has represented his national side Bangladesh Cricket Team in all three formats of International Cricket. Shakib is acknowledged as one of the best all-rounders around the world and greatest player Bangladesh ever produced from his first 8 years as a domestic first-class cricket career.

He made his first-class career debut for Khulna Division in 2004 and plays first-class cricket for his same team to present. In April 2019, he was named as the vice-captain of Bangladesh squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He became the first Bangladesh batsman to score 4000 runs in ODI, which he achieved during the first group stage match against Afghanistan with his 63 runs off 51 balls, Bangladesh won the match with 105 runs through the D/L method.

Shakib became first and only Bangladeshi cricketer and 3rd overall to take 100 or more wickets at the same venue which he took at  Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium Mirpur after former Pakistani skippers who both known as the king of reverse swing, inswing and outswing Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, who both took at Sharjah Cricket Stadium UAE.

Intl. Cricket Records

He has formed the highest ever 224 runs partnership along with Mahmudullah in at 5th wicket in the history of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against New Zealand. Shakib is the first Bangladeshi player and 4th overall after Dale Steyn, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Rangana Herath to take five wickets to haul against all Test Playing nations.

Shakib is the first and only Bangladeshi cricketer and 3rd overall in the history of international cricket to take 500 or more wickets and more than 10,000 runs in International Cricket. He is the only player in the history of International Cricket to take five wickets haul as captain which he took during a T20I with his career-best limited over bowling figure of 5/20.

He is the first and only player in the history of International to ranked at No. 1 all-rounder by ICC Rankings in all three formats on International Cricket. Shakib became the first Bangladesh bowler to take 200 Test Wickets with his eighteen five wickets hauls best bowling figure with 7/36 against New Zealand in 2008.

Shakib Al Hasan Wickets

He is the leading wicket-taker at the same venue with his 76 wickets in T20I at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. Shakib Al Hasan is the 3rd all-rounder after Imran Khan and Sir Ian Botham to take 10 wicket hauls a Test match.

Shakib became an 8th cricket player in the history of International Cricket to take at least a single five-wicket haul in all three formats of ICC, with his best bowling figure in Test 7/36, ODI 5/47 and T20I with 5/20. He is the first Bangladeshi cricketer and 7th overall in the history of International Cricket to score double hundred and dismissed for a duck in the same Test match, which he got against New Zealand in 2017.

He is the first Bangladeshi Cricketer to score a century with 144 runs and take five wickets to haul in the same Test match during the same innings, which he achieved against Pakistan. Shakib is considered as best athlete Bangladesh Cricket has ever produced for his energetic outfield and infield performances as controlled slow left-arm orthodox bowling action and fielding.

T20 League Cricket

Shakib Al Hasan have played county and franchise league cricket in different countries including Indian Premier League (IPL) , KFC Big Bash League (BBL), Pakistan Super League (PSL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL), English County Championship (Natwest T20 Blast) and his national side T20 cricket tournament Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

He made his debut in the Indian Premier League for Kolkata Knight Riders during IPL 2011 and retained by the same franchise until IPL 2017 and in the next IPL 2018 season, Shakib signed Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shakib made his debut in the English County Championship for Worcestershire during the English County season 2010 and played next season 2011 for the same cricket club and have also represented Leicestershire during the 2013 first-class cricket season.

He has also played the inaugural edition of Pakistan Super League during PSL 2016 for Karachi Kings and in next season Shakib was auctioned to Peshawar Zalm during PSL 2017 and have represented the same franchise until the most recent PSL 2019 edition. Shakib made his debut for Barbados Tridents during the inaugural edition of the Caribbean Premier League CPL 2013 season and later has represented Jamaica Tallawahs during CPL 2016 and 2017.

He made his debut in the KFC Big Bash League for Adelaide Strikers during the BBL season 2014 and represented Melbourne Renegades in the next BBL season 2015. Shakib made his debut in the Bangladesh Premier League during the first edition of BBL in 2012 for Khulna Royal Bengals and later represented Dhaka Gladiators, Rangpur Riders, and Dhaka Dynamites.
