Andre Dwayne Russell is a Jamaican cricketer who represented West Indies Cricket Team in all formats of International Cricket. Russell is batting all-rounder and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who usually plays at no. 6th or 7th wickets and best known for his destructive hard-hitting and muscling the ball out of the park. He is the most powerful striker of the cricket ball, muscleman and Devastator to bring his team into the game within a matter of one or two overs in winning stream. In April 2019, he was named in the West Indies’ squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
Russell is the 2nd only player after Joe Denly to score a century and take a wickets hat-trick in the same match, which Russell scored with his disastrous hitting a record 40 balls including 13 sixes and 6 fours during Caribbean Premier League season 2018 against Trinbago Knight Riders. He is the first player to dismiss four batsmen in four successive deliveries in the history of T20 cricket, which he recorded while representing West Indies Team A against India Team A taking wickets of Kedar Jadhav, Yuvraj Singh, Naman Ojha, and Yusuf Pathan.
T20 League Cricket
Russell made his debut in the Indian Premier League for Delhi Daredevils during IPL season 2012 and 2013. He was auctioned in the Indian Premier League and opted to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014 and retained by the same franchise from 2014-present. Russell made his debut for Khulna Royal Bengals during the inaugural edition of Bangladesh Premier League in BPL 2012 and was later played for Comilla Victorians during BPL 2015 Dhaka Dynamites in BPL season 2016 and 2019.
He made his debut in the English County Champions for Worcestershire during the County season 2013 and later he also played for Nottinghamshire during English County Champions 2016. Andree has made his debut for the Big Bash League for Melbourne Renegades during BBL 2014-15 season and later he also joined Sydney Thunder for BPL season 2015-16 and 2016-17.
He made his debut in the Pakistan Super League and represented Islamabad United during the PSL 2016 and 2018. Islamabad United won the PSL title in 2016 of its inaugural edition and Russell became a leading wicket-taker with 16. Russell made his debut in the Caribbean Premier League for Jamaica Tallawahs during the inaugural edition of CPL in 2013 and retained by the same franchise since.
He was named in the Global T20 Canada cricket tournament for Vancouver Knights in June 2018 for its inaugural edition. Russell made his debut in the Afghanistan Premier League tournament for Nangarhar during the inaugural edition of APL in 2018.
