Inderbir Singh “Ish” Sodhi is a right-arm leg break spin bowler and right-handed batsman. Inderbir Singh is known as Ish or Sodhi Stream for his nicknames. Ish was born on October 31, 1992, Ludhiana, Punjab, India. Ish is a New Zealand international cricketer who represented the NZ national cricket team in all formats of International Cricket. Sodhi made his first-class cricket debut for Northern Districts in the Plunket Shield Season 2012-13. In April 2019, he was named in New Zealand squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
Ish Sodhi was ranked at no. 1 position as best T20 bowler in ICC T20I Bowler Rankings jumping from 10th position in January 2018 to the end of the same year. Sodhi made his Test debut against Pakistan in November 2014 and scored 63 runs as his career-best and highest ever runs by a 10th wicket for New Zealand. He made his debut for Adelaide Strikers in KFC Big Bash League in BBL Season 2017. Sodhi ended the season with 6/11 off 3.3 overs and became Man of the Match.
This is the second-best bowling figure in the history of BBL after Lasith Malinga 6/7 in 4 overs between Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers. Sodhi became leading wicket-taker with 36 dismissals in 7 matches during Plunket Shield Season 2018-19.
