Tamim Iqbal (তামিম ইকবাল খান); is a left-hand opening batsman who represents his national side Bangladesh Cricket Team in all three formats of International Cricket and former vice-captain for his national side between 2010-11. He is a part-time right-arm off-break bowler. Tamim is best known for his quick off the mark, aggressive and attack approach to upset opposition bowlers in the powerplay.
Tamim made his first-class cricket debut for Chittagong Division in 2004 and since representing his first team. He has played his first-class cricket season in New Zealand for Wellington Firebirds during season 2012-13. Tamim has played his first-class cricket for Spin Ghar Tigers (سپين غر زمريان Spīn Ghar Zmaryān) in Afghanistan.
Tamim has represented World XI for a three T20I matches series against Pakistan in the 2017 Independence Cup in Lahore under South African current skipper Faf du Plessis captaincy and in 2018 he again played a single match for World XI as Rest of the World XI v West Indies at Lords Cricket Stadium on May 31, 2018 under Shahid Afridi captaincy.

He has scored his career-best ODI innings for his team with 154 runs including 7 fours and 6 sixes against Zimbabwe in a run chase. In the same match while batting first Zimbabwe batsman Charles Coventry scored his career-best 194 runs and equalled highest ever 194 runs record of former Pakistan skipper and opening batsman Saeed Anwar.
Just after Cricket World Cup 2015, a three-match ODI series was hosted by Bangladesh, in which he scored two consecutive centuries and a fifty in sequence with 132, 116 and 64 runs and Bangladesh whitewash Pakistan for the first time. He is the first Bangladeshi player to hit T20I century with 103 runs off 63 balls which he scored in a match-winning the encounter with Oman.
Tamim broke former Sri Lankan opening batsman and skipper Sanath Jayasuriya record by scoring 2514 runs at the same venue which he scored at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is the leading centuries scorer for the Bangladesh Cricket Team combining 20 in all three formats of International Cricket.
Tamim is the first Bangladeshi player to score 10,000 or more International runs with his Test 4000+, ODI 6000+ and T20I 1500+. He is the first Bangladesh to go past 1000 in T20 International matches with his single century, 6 fifties and T20 best 103*. He is the first Bangladeshi player to score a century against England in 2011, he was named Cricketer to the Year.
T20 League Cricket
He made his debut in the Bangladesh Premier League for Chittagong Vikings (চিটাগাং ভাইকিংস্) during the first edition of BBL in 2012 and later he represented Duronto Rajshahi ((দুরন্ত রাজশাহী) and Comilla Victorians (কুমিল্লা ভিক্টোরিয়ান্স). Tamim made his debut in the Pakistan Super League for Peshawar Zalmi during the inaugural edition of PSL 2016 and retained by the same franchise until the most recent PSL 2019 edition.
He has played English County Championship and made his debut in English County for Nottinghamshire and later represented Essex County Cricket Club.Tamim made his debut in the first edition of Afghanistan Premier League (APL) for Nangarhar Leopards (د ننګرهار پړانګان Da Nangarhār Pṛāngān) during APL 2018. Tamim made his debut in the Caribbean Premier League for St Lucia Stars (formerly known as St Lucia Zouks) during the second edition of CPL in 2013.
He made his debut in the Indian Premier League for Pune Warriors India during IPL 2012 and retained by the same franchise till the next and 5th edition in IPL 2013. He has represented Wayamba united during the inaugural edition of Sri Lanka Premier League in 2012.
