Mohammad Mahmudullah Riyad (মোহাম্মদ মাহমুদুল্লাহ রিয়াদ) is a right-handed batting all-rounder, lower order batsman with right-arm off break bowling style. He has represented his national side Bangladesh Cricket Team in all three formats of international cricket. He has played his first-class & List A cricket for Dhaka Division during 2004-05. Mahmudullah is the current Test and T20I vice-captain for Bangladesh Cricket Team.
Mahmudullah formed the highest ever any wicket partnership of 224-runs with Shakib Al Hasan for Bangladesh during 2017 ICC Champions Trophy against New Zealand. This is the highest ever 5th wicket partnership in the history of ICC Champions Trophy. He is the 3rd Bangladeshi player to take a five-wicket haul on his Test debut which he achieved against West Indies on 09 July 2009 at that time.
In November 2011 Mahmudullah faced Pakistan and score 56 runs his highest in 3 matches ODI series and bowled in just one match, three-wicket from seven deliveries. He is the first Bangladeshi batsman to score a century in World Cup history which he scored against England, his maiden ODI century in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Mahmudullah scored another century in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup against New Zealand, he ended the ICC mega event with 365 runs in 6 matches at an average of 73.00. In April 2019, he was named in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
T20 Franchise Cricket
Mahmudullah made his debut in the Sri Lanka Premier League for Basnahira Cricket Dundee during the second edition of the Sri Lanka Premier League. He made his debut in the Bangladesh Premier League for Chittagong Vikings during the first edition of BPL 2012. Later he jointed Barisal Bulls and Khulna Titans.
Mahmudullah made his debut for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League during PSL 2017 the second edition and retained by the same franchise in 2018 PSL. He made his debut in the Caribbean Premier League for Jamaica Tallawahs during CPL edition 2017 and later he joined St Kitts and Nevis Patriots during CPL 2018-present.
