Toronto Nationals Squad

Toronto Nationals have picked up one of the balanced squads for the second edition of Global T20 Canada. Former New Zealand skipper, clean striker of the ball, brutal, brash and brilliant to watch batsman Brendon McCullum has joined the franchise. Toronto Nationals although didn’t have pleasant memories from the past as they were at the last place at Points Table.

Brendon McCullum has been used throughout his cricket career and it’s always been a treat to watch when he is at the crease. McCullam muscles the ball in all sides of the ground from the cover drive, mid-on, leg, offside or leg side. While he is batting it looks like whatever he smashes as his favorite shot. He loves to give his team a flying start for his bustling strike rate in limited over cricket.

Another big name of the cricket world and T20 specialist from India Yuvraj Singh has singed Toronto Nationals for this season. Yuvraj has hit 6 sixes off six balls in the T20I against England and has scored the fastest ever T20I century of 12 balls. Yuvraj Singh has been outstanding throughout the whole season of the Indian Premier League. Yuv is known as the hero of the tournament during ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 for his consistent performances.

West Indian hulk Kieron Pollard signed by the Toronto Nationals for the 2020 Global T20 Canad. His showcase in franchise cricket has always been medium but several matches he won single-handed for his team. He played in Big Bash League, Indian Premier League, Pakistan Super League, Bangladesh Premier League, and Caribbean Premier League, etc.

Chris Gayle who led the side during its inaugural edition of the Global T20 in 2018 and won the title. At points table, Vancouver Knights were on top at playoffs and knockout stage of the tournament. Chris Gayle will lead the side during the second edition of the tournament.

Ask any cricket lover about Gayle he will definitely shout out about his hard-hitting ability and monstrous sixes. Gayle is technically strong and with his footwork has outstanding hand-eye coordination. No other batsman in the world is likely to hit almost 50% good-length deliveries for boundaries. Gayle has magnificent records in 20-over format whether International, domestic or in franchise cricket.

His aggressive and free-stroking attacking ability made him T20 specialist batsman and often known as “Universe Boss”. Vancouver Knight has finalized South African top-order batsman Rassie van der Dussen. He is the most dynamic and adaptable batsman and played in various conditions and remained consistent. He has played in England, Ireland, West Indies, and South Africa in all formats which accumulate his experience.

The most experienced Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik is all set to play for Vancouver Knights and knowns as T20 master. Malik occasionally bowls in the middle of the innings and could be handy while batting in the middle. He possesses vast experience from all cricket leagues like BPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, and other tournaments as well.

Andre Russell, Tim Southee, and Chadwick Walton have signed a contract with Vancouver Knights for 2020 GT20 League season.  Russell is known for smashing back-to-back sixes especially when it comes to chasing the target. He is best limited over bowler who bowls pretty well with an old ball rather than the newer one. Russell feels comfortable when only five or ten overs left to bat on as he creates space and smashes the ball with his hulk figure.

Dwayne Smith is a tall, aggressive and powerful hitter who came under the eyes of the Windies Cricket board from his magnificent performances. Smith loves to play against pace bowling attack but feels little itchy against quality swing bowling.

He is a surprising talent who scored 73 runs off 51 balls in the inaugural edition of Pakistan Super League. His team won the title of PSL and he was named as a player of the Match.

Winnipeg Hawks squads include JP Duminy, Chris Lynn, and Umer Akmal. These names have their own fame around the world from BBL, IPL, PSL, CPL, and BPL everywhere they performed well. Chris Lynn had a fantastic BBL career, who always opens with the bat and loves to play against pace.
