Rahmat Shah ( رحمت شاه زرمتی); A right-handed batting all-rounder and a handy bowler with leg-break and google variations is currently Afghan Test team captain. He has represented his national side Afghanistan Cricket Team in Test and ODI but yet to make debut in the limited-overs format. Shah made his first-class and List A cricket debut in Pakistan’s domestic circles.
While representing the Afghan team against Pakistan A and other regional teams including Faisalabad and Rawalpindi. Rahmat has played Afghan domestic structure T20 Cricket league Shpageeza Cricket League (شپږيزه کريکټ ليګ). While representing Band-e-Amir Dragons during the fifth season of the league in 2017 and remained leading wicket-taker with 8 dismissals in five matches.
He has played a domestic structure T20 cricket tournament in Pakistan, Faysal Bank Twenty20 Cup while representing Afghan Cheetahs under Mohammad Nabi captaincy. He has played his List A in the Dhaka Premier League while playing for Mohammedan Sporting Club from 2013-15. Rahmat has represented Nangarhar during the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League.
In the most recent APL season in September 2018. Rahmat has representing Mis Ainak Knights during the 2017 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament. He played 112 List A games scoring over 3400 runs with his six centuries and 21 half-centuries. Rahmat is a part-time bowler who picked up 14 wickets in Twenty20 Internationals. He made his Test debut against India June 14, 2018, at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Rahmat Shah has a single five wickets haul in ODI as his best bowling figure 5/32 with 34.17 bowling averages. In April 2019, he was named in Afghanistan’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He represented his national side in 73 Twenty20I and four One Day Internationals. He is a Twenty20 specialist batsman who smashed four centuries the highest by any of his national sides.
