Abu Jayed is a right-arm medium-fast bowler with right-handed batting style. He represented his national side Bangladesh Cricket Team in Test and T20I. He has been named in Bangladesh squad for the World Cup 2019. Abu Jayed is a pace skilled bowler who has recently made his debut. For Bangladesh after his outstanding first-class cricket season.
Jayed recently made his entry into international cricket after his outstanding performances in BPL. He appeared as a specialist Test bowler who played nine games grabbing 24 wickets. Jayed got the selector’s eye attention and played two One Internationals and three T20I. He has been outstanding with his skilled bowling spells in first-class and Lists A Cricket. A brilliant performer who appeared in all formats of international cricket for his national side.
He came under the Bangladesh Cricket Board selection committee for his superb bowling season. Jayed made his Test debut against West Indies on July 4, 2018, as replacement of Mustafizur Rahman. He has been struggling with his injuries at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium during the series between both teams. Due to severe injury, Jayed ruled out from the rest of the series and returned back to his county.
Abu Javed made his T20I debut against Afghanistan at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. A Test & ODI series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh, which Afghanistan won by a 1 runs. He became the leading wicket-taker during the 2016/17 first-class cricket structure. He represented Sylhet Division during the National Cricket League. Jayed becoming leading wicket-taker with 18 dismissals in 13 matches.
In his first-class cricket career, he played 86 matches and grabbed 253 wickets. He has a great bowling strike rate who manage breakthroughs in much needed times. Jayed appeared in 65 List A games and picked 79 wickets with his quality bowling. In the domestic and Bangladesh Premier League altogether he appeared in 57 games and picked 63 wickets.
