Hashmatullah Shahidi is a left-handed top-order batsman who usually bats at number 3 position for his national side Afghanistan Cricket Team. He has represented his national side in Test and ODI formats of ICC but yet to make his T20I debut. He is a fantastic cricketer with a soft hand and strong playing technique. Shahidi loves to build innings according to the situation.
He played 39 ODIâ€™s scoring 97* highest innings with his 32.18 average. His somehow best averages in Afghanistan team squad. The middle-order batsman has several records in building a partnership at a very crucial stage and once he sets he kept going with the pace and scores run accordingly. He has made his Test debut for the Afghanistan team during their first-ever Test match.
After obtaining Test cricket status from ICC against India at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 14, 2018, which is a historic day for Afghan cricket. This historic moment for Afghan Cricket and now is currently playing ICC Test Championship 2021 this year.Â Hashmatullah played his first-class cricket for Band-e-Amir Region. In 2017â€“18 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament while representing his regional team.
He scores his highest first-class runs with 163 runs in the first innings against Speen Ghar Region. Shahidi made his ODI debut at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium against Kenya on September 30, 2013. Shahidi played great innings last year in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.Â He played few great innings by taking advantage of batting top of the order.
Shahidi played some important innings but Afghanistan didnâ€™t win a single game at the group stage of the tournament. Shahidi has outstanding performances with the bat and normally comes top of the order for batting. He didnâ€™t appear in Twenty20 International but has been a regular part of the One Day International team squad.
