Christopher Henry Morris is commonly known as Chris Morris. He is bowling all-rounder and one of the most successful cricketers in the current era. Morris made his appearances for the national side in all three formats of international cricket. He made his debut against Pakistan in the ODI series during 2013 and later toured England for other formats. Chris Morris is best known for his outstanding all-round performances.
One of his best performances throughout during early days of his career were remarkable. He smashed 62 off 38 balls and leveled the ODI series against England in 2016. Another great achievement in his career when he grabbed four wickets against New Zealand. In a rain-affected match with 34 overs, restricted game his four wickets ceased the victory for NZ. Morris selected as the part of South Africa’s squad for ICC 2017 Champions Trophy.
He got his name to SA squad for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup as the replacement of Anrich Nortje. He finished with the leading wicket-taker for his national side with thirteen dismissals in eight matches. Morris is one of the best bowling all-rounders with his fearless batting style in the lower order. Chris Morris came to the attention of the national selectors during his first-class and List A career.
Morris has been part of different Twenty20 Cricket Leagues happening all around. He made his debut for Chennai Super Kings during the 2013 Indian Premier League and later joined Rajasthan Royals. Delhi Capitals won him from the IPL draft in 2016 and retained by the franchise thereafter. Morris played for Sydney Thunder in Big Bash League and yet to appear in Pakistan Super League.
Morris played just four test matches and picked 12 wickets with his best bowling figure of 3/38. He never got to five-wickets haul but grabbed 4/31 and 4/27 in ODI and Twenty20 format. Morris smashed 62 off 38 balls against England as highest individual innings in ODI and 55* in the T20 format. He has four centuries in first-class cricket with 154 as the highest individual innings.
