Edgbaston Cricket Ground will host 5 Cricket World Cup 2019 matches. Birmingham Ground is historic ground after Lord’s which already hosted group stage matches for ICC Cricket World Cups including (1975 Cricket World Cup, 1979 Cricket World Cup and the 1983 Cricket World Cup). Edgbaston is first ground after Lord’s to host any mega event of the International Cricket Council, which hosted ICC 2013 Champions Trophy.
The ground will host the entire England cricket schedule 2020 games for Test, ODI, and Twenty20 format. Edgbaston Cricket Ground to host first-class, List A and domestic T20 tournaments of English cricket summer 2020. The stadium will host Specsavers County Championship, English County Championship and Vitality Blast. The opening match of the Vitality Blast scheduled on May 8 between host team Warwickshire and Durham.
The cricket summer 2020 will commence from April 19 with Specsavers County Championship opening match between Warwickshire and Northamptonshire. As per the Edgbaston Ground Fixture -The Ground will host Vitality Blast T20 both semi-finals and final. Both semi-finals are scheduled on the same date September 5 between the top four teams at Vitality Blast points table.
According to the Vitality Blast Fixture the final match on Scheduled on the same date between the 1st and 2nd semi-final winners. A total number of ten matches for Vitality Blast scheduled on Edgbaston including semi-finals and final of the tournament. As per England Cricket Schedule – Edgbaston Cricket Ground will host 2nd Test – England v West Indies under the umbrella of ICC World Test Championship commencing from July 12.
