Shimron Hetmyer is a left-handed batting all-rounder and right-arm leg-break bowler. He represented West Indies Cricket Team in all three formats of International Cricket. He captained West Indies U-19 Cricket Team during the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The tournament hosted by UAE and won by South Africa against runner up Pakistan. Hetmyer has been named as one of the five breakout stars in men’s cricket by ICC in 2018.
Hetmyer scores his maiden ODI century against UAE at the Old Hararians ground in Harare. He named as the Man of the Match in 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier on March 6, 2018. Shimron became the first West Indian Cricketer to score the fastest ODI century against England. He scored from 82 balls in February 2019. He has great batting hands and loves to settle on the crease. Fabien enjoys any format of cricket as he has been in West Indies squad in all three formats.
He scored five centuries and four half-centuries with highest innings of 139 in One Day format. Shimron appeared his 16 Test matches scoring 93 as highest innings and 56 in limited-overs cricket. He has an outstanding strike rate of over 100 in ODI’s and Twenty20 games. Hetmyer scored six centuries with the highest innings of 139 in first-class cricket. He is the gifted talent for West Indies cricket in limited-overs format with supreme accuracy of clean striking.
Hetmyer made his debut for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League. During 2016 CPL and retained by the same franchise for the CPL 2017 edition. Shimron became the youngest player to score a century in CPL during his first edition which he scored against Jamaica Tallawahs. Hetmyer made his debut in the Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
