Milinda Siriwardana (මිලින්ද සිරිවර්ධන) is a left-handed batting all-rounder with slow left-arm orthodox bowling action. He is commonly known as Man with the golden arms for his wicket-taking ability in crucial times for Sri Lanka. He has represented his national side Sri Lanka Cricket Team in all three formats of International Cricket. Siriwardana made his limited-overs cricket debut against Pakistan and picked up his maiden T20I wicket for Shoaib Malik on July 30, 2015.
Siriwardana made his first-class debut for Sebastianes Cricket and Athletic Club in 2005. He played first-class cricket for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club, Basnahira South and scored his maiden first-class century for Basnahira South against Ruhuna Royals with 135 runs and took his first five wickets to haul in first-class cricket in the same match. Malinda has played in the Super 4’s T20 tournament for Ruhuna Royals, Udarata Rulers formerly known as Kandurata Maroons.
Malinda played just five test matches scoring two half-centuries with highest innings of 68 runs. He is a great all-rounder who has great hands with the bat and ball in all formats. Sriwardana played 27 One Day Internationals and 22 Twenty20 games and scored three half-centuries in ODI’s. He has outstanding stats in first-class, List A and T20 cricket including league cricket career.
He has 185* unbeaten innings as the highest individual in first-class cricket while 111*unbeaten List A cricket. Sriwardana is a pure talent in SL squad who has the capability of taking wickets and scoring runs. He picked altogether 300 wickets including first-class, List A and T20s. He has a much better strike rate with ball and bat as compared to his fellow all-rounders in the SL team.
It is a temporary installment of the Sri Lanka Premier League during the inaugural edition of this tournament in 2012 and 2014 respectively. He has played his List A cricket for Sri Lanka A, Dhaka Division and Victoria Sporting Club. Malinda has been named in Sri Lanka squad for ICC World Cup 2019. International Cricket Council (ICC) named him as one of the five surprises picks for the tournament.
