Lahore Qalandars Squad 2020 – PSL Results and Anthem

As per Pakistan Super League 5th edition – Lahore Qalandars have announced their squad for PSL 2020. According to Lahore Qalandars Squad 2020 – Sohail Akhtar will lead Qalandars Squad PSL 5, and he one of the retained players by his team. Akhtar is playing his 3rd season of the tournament for Qalandars and one of the best retention as an all-rounder player. Qalandars are playing with seven retained players from the previous Pakistan Super League 2019 season.

As per the PSL 2020 Draft – Qalandars announced their retained players in the 3rd week of November ahead of the final draft. Shaheen Afridi, Sohail Akhtar, Mohammad Hafeez, Salman Butt, Fakhar Zaman, and Usman Khan Shinwari are the retained players. Qalandars pick up Ben Duck from the Diamond category of PSL 5 draft as their wicket-keeper batsman. Ben has a fantastic cricket season in first-class and especially last season of Big Bash League 2018-19.

Chris Lynn is a player who can make a difference with his bat with an opening start. Lynn is probably to open innings for Qalandars along with Fakhar Zaman. Although Qalandars have a strong squad but not as like other franchises have – question mark arises will Qalandars have to change their position on the PSL points table. The team has exceptional all-rounders such as Sohail Akhtar, David Wiese, Hais Rauf, Seekkuge Prasanna, and Mohammad Hafeez. Not a very strong squad as compared to other franchises in PSL 5 season.

The team made significant changes in the PSL 2018 draft to give a tough time to the opponents. Qalandars won only two games, six lost, one tied, and 1 NR during PSL 3 and were out of the tournament due to NRR low.

They changed the entire strategy of the game to win PSL 2019 title but ended up with just a 30 Strike rate. Qalandars were knocked out for the 4th time from the group stage by claiming the lowest spot in PSL 2019 Standings. The team only won 3 games out of 10.

Qalandars are representing the second biggest city of Pakistan, Lahore. Letter “Q” represents two origins Qalandars and Qatar (QALCO). The brand or logo primarily highlights the “Sufi Culture of Lahore” so named with the standard term Qalandars.

The Sufi whirling and three stumps to right of the logo and a cricket ball as the base truly represents Qalandar’s love for cricket. The logo is a clear depiction of world Qalandars.

The Qalandars kit for PSL 5 or PSL 2020 will be similar one as PSL 2019 were. Lahore Qalandars will change sponsorship logos from the team jersey. Qalandars have changed their T-Shirt and trousers from red & black to light green kit for PSL 3, PSL 4 and most probably for PSL 5.
