Jeevan Mendis Profile, Career Info, Records & Stats

Jeevan Mendis (ජීවන් මෙන්ඩිස්)  a left-handed batting all-rounder with leg-break bowling style. Mendis has played his first-class cricket for Sinhalese 2002-08, Bloomfield in 2011, Ruhuna in 2011,  Kandurata 2008-10 and Tamil Union 2008-present. He represented Basnahira Cricket Dundee in 2012, Uthura Rudras in 2013, Yaal Blazers in 2014 during the domestic T20 Tournament.

Mendis has played two ICC mega-events for Sri Lanka Team, in 2012 ICC World T20 Cup and 2015 ICC World Cup. Jeevan has represented Sri Lanka Cricket Team in One Day International and T20I formats of ICC. Jeevan Mendis has represented Sri Lanka in U-19 Cricket World Cup and recorded his best bowling figure with 7/20 just after Australian Jason Ralston with 7/19 and became only Sri Lankan to achieve this feat.

He played 58 One Day Internationals and 22 Twenty20 games but hasn’t appeared in Test format. Jeevan has outstanding records in first-class, List A and T20 cricket including league cricket career. He scored double hundred in first-class cricket with his 206* unbeaten innings. His all-round capabilities with 21 centuries in first-class and 36 half-centuries stats. He has 72 highest innings in ODI while 43* unbeaten highest in Twenty20 format.

Franchise T20 Cricket

Jeevan made his debut in South Africa Mzansi Super League T20 for Tshwane Spartans during the first edition of the tournament in October 2018 and remained a joint leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets in nine matches. Mendis made his debut in the Bangladesh Premier League for Chittagong Vikings during BPL season 2015, 2017 and also have played Barisal Bulls during BPL season 2016.

Mendis made his debut in the Caribbean Premier League for Barbados Tridents during the second edition in 2014. He has played for Derbyshire in the English County Championship during the 2017 English County season. Mendis made his debut in the KFC Big Bash League for Sydney Sixers during the BBL season 2012. J Mendis has played for Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League during IPL 2013.

Milinda Siriwardana Profile, Career Info, Records & Stats

Milinda Siriwardana (මිලින්ද සිරිවර්ධන) is a left-handed batting all-rounder with slow left-arm orthodox bowling action. He is commonly known as Man with the golden arms for his wicket-taking ability in crucial times for Sri Lanka. He has represented his national side Sri Lanka Cricket Team in all three formats of International Cricket. Siriwardana made his limited-overs cricket debut against Pakistan and picked up his maiden T20I wicket for Shoaib Malik on July 30, 2015.

Siriwardana made his first-class debut for Sebastianes Cricket and Athletic Club in 2005.  He played first-class cricket for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club, Basnahira South and scored his maiden first-class century for Basnahira South against Ruhuna Royals with 135 runs and took his first five wickets to haul in first-class cricket in the same match. Malinda has played in the Super 4’s T20 tournament for Ruhuna Royals, Udarata Rulers formerly known as Kandurata Maroons.

Malinda played just five test matches scoring two half-centuries with highest innings of 68 runs. He is a great all-rounder who has great hands with the bat and ball in all formats. Sriwardana played 27 One Day Internationals and 22 Twenty20 games and scored three half-centuries in ODI’s. He has outstanding stats in first-class, List A and T20 cricket including league cricket career.

He has 185* unbeaten innings as the highest individual in first-class cricket while 111*unbeaten List A cricket. Sriwardana is a pure talent in SL squad who has the capability of taking wickets and scoring runs. He picked altogether 300 wickets including first-class, List A and T20s. He has a much better strike rate with ball and bat as compared to his fellow all-rounders in the SL team.

It is a temporary installment of the Sri Lanka Premier League during the inaugural edition of this tournament in 2012 and 2014 respectively. He has played his List A cricket for Sri Lanka A, Dhaka Division and Victoria Sporting Club. Malinda has been named in Sri Lanka squad for ICC World Cup 2019. International Cricket Council (ICC) named him as one of the five surprises picks for the tournament.

Lasith Malinga Profile, Career Info, Records & Stats

Lasith Malinga (ලසිත් මාලිංග); is a right-arm medium-fast bowler who is commonly known as for his unusual, distinctive and sling bowling action.  Malinga’s slower dipper, death yorkers, and unorthodox move made him death overs specialist. He is one of the best bowlers in the World for limited over cricket. He consistently bowls at 140 kmph, best known for his in-swinging yorkers and taking consecutive wickets.

Malinga made his first-class cricket for Galle in 2001. He played first-class cricket for Nondescripts in 2004-present, Basnahira in 2010-11. Malinga is the only bowler in the world to have 2 World Cup hat-tricks. Three hat-tricks in ODI and first bowler to take four wickets in four consecutive balls in any form of International Cricket Lasith Malinga captained the Sri Lanka team during ICC 2014 T20I Cricket World Cup.

Under his captaincy, Sri Lanka won the T20 Cricket World Cup for the first time. Maling is 4th Sri Lanka to take 300 ODI wickets after Muralitharan, Vaas, and Jayasuriya, and 5th quickest to achieve this feat with 203 matches. He has a record of wicket-taking and has five wickets haul 3 in Test, 8 in ODI and 1 in T20I, with his best bowling figures 5/50, 6/38 and 5/31 respectively.

Malinga captained Sri Lanka Cricket Team in ODI in 9 matches and lost all, he captained his team in 6 T20I and won 3 of them. He is the first Sri Lankan and second overall after Shahid Afridi leading wicket-taker in Twenty20 Internationals. Malinga’s highest ODI individual runs is the highest ever by a number 10 batsman.

T20 Cricket Leagues

Malinga made his debut in the Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians. During the inaugural edition of IPL in 2008 and retained by the same franchise to the most recent IPL 2020 edition. Malinga is the leading wicket-taker in IPL with 161 wickets. He made his debut in the Bangladesh Premier League for Rangpur Riders during BPL 2017.

He played for Khulna Titans in 2019, with the best bowling figure of 6/7 in BBL history. Malinga made his debut in the Big Bash League for Melbourne Stars during BBL 2012 and retained by the same franchise until the next two seasons. He made his debut in the inaugural edition of the Caribbean Premier League for Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Suranga Lakmal Profile, Career Info, Records & Stats

Suranga Lakmal (සුරංග ලක්මාල්); is bowling all-rounder with right-arm medium-fast bowling and right-handed batting style. Lakmal is have represented his national side Sri Lanka Cricket Team in all three formats of International Cricket and captained his team in Test matches. He played his first-class cricket for Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club, Basnahira South cricket team and Matara Sports Club from 2007-present. 

Lakmal became first Sri Lankan and 3rd overall to take Test match wicket at his very first ball he bowled at a new venue, he dismissed Chris Gayle during the Sri Lanka Tour of West Indies. Lakmal joined this feat with Kapil Dev and Imran Khan who both picked at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. He is the fourth-highest Test wicket-taker for Sri Lanka.

He became 4th Sri Lankan fast bowler to take 100th Test wicket as “caught by himself” after  Chaminda Vaas, Lasith Malinga, and Dilhara Fernando, when he dismissed Tamim Iqbal on 8th February.  Suranga Lakmal became the first Asian Test Captain to win a Test match at Kensington Oval, Barbados, against West Indies. Under Lakmal captaincy, Sri Lanka played the first Test series against West Indies and won by 2-0.

He played an important role in win T20I Cricket World Cup 2014 for the first time. He is a great bowler who presented his national side in all three formats of international cricket. Lakmal took 151 wickets in 61 Test matches while 107 in 85 One Day Internationals. He took almost 600 wickets in first-class, List A and Twenty20 Internationals.

Nuwan Pradeep Profile, Career Info, Records & Stats

Nuwan Pradeep (නුවන් ප්‍රදීප්); is a Sri Lankan cricketer who has presented Sri Lanka Cricket Team in all formats of International Cricket. Pradeep is a right-arm medium-fast bowler with a right-handed batting style. Pradeep played his first-class cricket for Burgher Recreation Club, Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club and Basnahira North cricket team during season 2007-08, 2008-11 and 2009-10 respectively.

Nuwan has played his List A, first-class and T20 cricket for Ruhuna cricket team. The first-class competition known as Inter-Provincial First Class Tournament, List A competitions. As Inter-Provincial Limited Over Tournament and Inter-Provincial Twenty20.  He is married to his longtime partner, Nilakshi Champika. Their wedding was celebrated on 7 May 2015. 

Pradeep conceded 106 runs in his 10 overs spell in One Day International against India, Rohit Sharma scored his 3rd double hundred and Sri Lanka lost by 141 runs, his spell is the most expensive spell by any Sri Lankan. Pradeep took his maiden Test match and international cricket on his debut against Pakistan on 25 June 2012 at Galle International Stadium, by dismissing Mohammad Ayub.

He recorded him when he dismissed South African top-order opening batsman Hashim Amla as lbw, that was 10,000th Law, in Test Cricket during 2016-Sri Lanka’s tour of South Africa. Nuwan picked 70 wickets in his 28 Test matches while 57 in 45 One Day Internationals. He represented his national side in just fourteen Twenty20 Internationals taking15 wickets of them. 

Nuwan has completed his 100 List A matches taking 13 wickets with his best bowling figure of 5/30. He appeared in 88 first-class and 45 T20 matches including his IPL career. Pradeep took 208 wickets in first-class and 47 in Twenty20 cricket. He made his debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore during IPL season 2015.
